During Nelson’s first time back on the CMA stage since 2012, the country stars stood before a rainbow backdrop and sang along to beloved country classic “Rainbow Connection.” While Nelson strummed his guitar and wore a black cowboy hat, Musgraves belted out the popular lyrics and wore a shimmery gold ensemble.

Before the moving performance, the Texan songstress won the award for Music Video of the Year. She also won the award for Female Vocalist of the Year, beating out the likes of Carrie Underwood and Maren Morris.
