American Idol made a double elimination on Wednesday night’s show as Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens got the boot.
The pair said goodbye to their Idol dreams following the performance episode featuring Elvis tunes and tutelage by last year’s Idol runner-up Adam Lambert. For their farewell songs, Garcia chose his rendition of Jim Morrison’s "You Give Me Something" and Stevens’ of the Beatles’ "Let it Be."
"I’m glad I’m here. I’m glad I’ve been through what I’ve been through," Garcia said following his performance. Seventh season Idol finalist Brooke White and ex-Miley Cyrus boyfriend Justin Gaston performed "If I Can Dream."
Lambert closed things out with a powerhouse laser-filled performance of "Whattaya Want From Me," that came complete with a heartfelt moment when, following his performance, Lambert said to the crowd, "I owe this show everything." –JOE GALBO
