Bruce Campbell, who starred in the first three Evil Dead films, will again play Ash Williams in the Starz TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead, which will premiere on Halloween. The trailer debuted last weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, and tells us the series takes place approximately 30 years after the first film’s events — with Ash declaring that “the evil” has found him.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead seems set to live up to its trademark style – corrosive humor, gore, tomato sauce-like special effects and, of course, Ash’s chainsaw. Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) is the show’s executive producer and will direct the first of ten episodes. Raimi promised to get “some monster butt” kicked in Rolling Stone. “This time, there’s a truckload of it,” he said.
