Country singer Eric Church and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan made an unlikely team on Sunday night when they opened Super Bowl LV’s with the national anthem.

It was one of the few duets of “The Star Spangled Banner” in TV history. Making it more interesting, Church strummed his guitar as they sang, something not seen often as the song is usually sung a cappella, with no background music.

Coming from two different musical backgrounds, they surprisingly melded their voices together well. Church stayed in his lower register while Sullivan’s vocals were easily able to tackle the song’s high notes.

“The land of the free and the home of the brave #SBLV,” Church wrote on his Instagram with a snippet of the pair singing the 200 year old song.
