Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson impressed fans Friday by tearing apart his mechanized front gate, which was stuck shut because of a power outage. He had had “hundreds of production crew members waiting,” and didn’t want to inconvenience them further by waiting almost an hour for a technician, so decided to jump-start his day by ripping the entire gate out of the brick wall.
Despite making two Instagram posts about it, Johnson seemed slightly embarrassed about his outburst, mentioning it was “not his finest hour.” Nonetheless, his fellow celebrity friends showered him in praise and jokes regarding his impressive strength.
“Definition of “Daddy’s gotta go to work!” Now people understand why the characters of Hobbs and Black Adam were actually inspired by you! 😂” commented Hiram Garcia, who helped oversee production on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
“Big fella, I’m guessing you couldn’t just jump the fence and get a ride to work?? Asking for a friend !!” Brian Westbrook asked.
“The gate opened the OTHER way,” Ryan Reynolds joked.
Even Logan Paul commented, asking Johnson to post a video of him ripping out the gate.
Later that day, Johnson made a post announcing what exactly he was rushing for: production on his upcoming Netflix original film, Red Notice, has officially resumed.
