Warren Beatty was accused in a lawsuit of allegedly coercing a teenage girl into a sexual relationship in 1973.

Kristina Charlotte Hirsch filed the suit on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging that Beatty, 35 at the time, tried to “groom, manipulate, exploit and coerce sexual contact” with her when she was 14.

Hirsch describes in the lawsuit that the relationship began with Beatty commenting “repeatedly” on her looks and giving her his phone number. She was excited at first and they started calling and meeting each other regularly. Beatty offered to help her with her homework and took her on car rides.

According to the lawsuit, Beatty groomed her throughout the year and eventually forced her into “oral sex, simulated sex and finally coerced sexual intercourse.”

She is now suing for damage for “severe emotional, physical and psychological distress” over the years.

While there is a statute of limitations on allegations of sexual assault, Hirsch, who currently lives in Louisiana, claimed the alleged abuse happened in California when she lived there in 1973.

She was able to file the lawsuit as part of California’s 2019 law which allows a new three-year window for victims of child sexual abuse to open court proceedings.
