J.C. Jackson did not appear for a court hearing on traffic charges in Massachusetts on Friday, resulting in a warrant being put out for his arrest.
The Chargers cornerback was scheduled to appear in Attleboro District Court on charges of reckless driving and speeding from 2021.
Jackson was benched during Sunday’s game, though Charger’s coach Brandon Staley claimed that the decision was unrelated to his legal woes.
“He is on our team and we expect him to prepare and practice and continue to improve,” Staley told NBC Sports.
The team is aware of the warrant for Jackson’s arrest and is choosing to let him deal with the matter on his own.
