A diehard The Walking Dead fan bit Norman Reedus during the “Walker Stalker” convention at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New Jersey last weekend.
Reedus, who plays the bow and arrow wielding, motorcycle riding Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, posed with his many fans for photo ops during the convention. One overzealous fan decided to take the opportunity to channel a walker, and bit Reedus on the chest, reported TMZ.
Security was nearby during the incident and immediately jumped in to interfere. The fan in question was kicked out of the convention and banned from all future “Walker Stalker” conventions, as well as any similar event at which Reedus will be in attendance.
The report appears to be corroborated by the fan herself, who apparently took to Instagram to share a picture with Reedus, and detail the incident.
“Finally meet the love of my life, and get banned from the rest of the CON and lose two more $100 photo ops with him because I lost my mind,” she wrote, per a screengrab of her Instagram post. “Got so excited standing beside him… & just turned my head and bit him! I don’t know what came over me. It wasn’t my intention to hurt him. I’m sorry Norman!”
Since the fan didn’t break skin, Reedus declined to seek medical attention or to press charges. He did, however, take to Instagram himself to ask that no one else bites him.
