‘The Voice’ Recap: Judges Complete Their Teams; Vanessa Ferguson Shines

The judges completed their teams after the last round of blind auditions on The Voice last night.

THE VOICE RECAP

The first artist of the night was Vanessa Ferguson who sang arguably the best audition of the show thus far. She has been singing since she was 3-years-old and sang “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers. All the judges but Adam Levine hit their buzzers. The singer chose to join Alicia Keys‘ team.

Next up was Dawson Coyle who sang “Happiness” by Needtobreathe. He told his story about losing everything to a house fire, and in the end joined Team Blake Shelton, as his was the only chair that spun around.

The performer to join Gwen Stefani‘s team was Jozy Bernadette, a rocker who sang “American Woman” by The Guess Who. “Gwen, I pick you no doubt,” she said, choosing her over Levine.

The next performer went to Levine’s team, which was then filled up. Bar singer Sheena Brook chose “Baby Girl” by Sugarland as her song, and Levine turned right away. “His dream is to beat me with a country artist,” joked Shelton.

Last to fill her team was Keys, who went with bluesy artist Chris Blue, who sang “Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson. Keys was dancing and smiling the entire time Blue was singing, clearly exactly what she was hoping for. “I was looking for a male voice, someone who was bluesy and soulful, and boom!” said Keys before asking to meet the young man’s family.

With all the teams filled, we head into next week when the Battle Round begins. Guest judge appearances from John LegendDJ KhaledLuke Bryan, and Celine Dion should spice things up.
