Adam Levine finally got some artists on his team after losing artists to fellow coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams on The Voice‘s second round of Blind Auditions.
Anthony Riley, 27, a Motown lover and street performer, earned what Carson Daly dubbed “the fastest four-chair turn in Voice history” with the first note of his performance of “I Got You (I Feel Good).” Anthony’s performance only got better – his years of performing on the street have certainly taught him how to draw in an audience, and he brought the judges to their feet with his fancy footwork and pitch-perfect falsetto. Blake tried hard to get Anthony on his team, telling him that they would be an electric duo, but as soon as Pharrell started talking it was over.

Gabriel Wolfchild, 26, was next. Gabriel’s hippy/alternative family is enough to get the audience interested in Wolfchild – he chose his own name in a special ceremony as a rite of passage. The folksinger auditioned with Bob Dylan’s “Don’t think Twice, It’s Alright” and got Adam, Blake and Christina to turn around (in that order). “You’re the coolest dude ever,” Adam told him after hearing his name. Adam tried to relate to Gabriel with a love of folk music, and Blake complimented his emotional sensibility. Christina was the only one to lay out a plan to work with him, saying that he was “one of a kind” and that she would help him continue to use his voice to connect with the audience. Gabriel surprised everyone by choosing Team Christina!

Brooke Adee, 16, a young girl from Georgia/Florida who was inspired to sing after seeing a production of Annie, auditioned with the Birdie version of “Skinny Love.” Brooke got both Adam and Blake to press their buttons after just one line. Adam gave a good pitch, but Blake does have a good track record with young teen hopefuls. “I think I’m looking at a future star right now,” Blake told her. Plus, Blake had previously instructed a section of the audience to chant his name if it came down to him and Adam.

Dylan Dunlap, 18, a struggling student, auditioned with a bluesy take on Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty.” Dylan failed to get a chair to turn, but did get some good advice from the coaches and was told to come back with more control and discipline.
Tonya Boyd-Cannon, 35, works with inmates who are getting ready to leave prison to help with their re-entry into society. Tonya was the first of the season to audition with a song by one of the judges, performed Pharrell’s “Happy.” Adam pressed his button first, and Christina and Pharrell both turned last minute. Tonya’s performance only hinted to what she’s capable of, and Adam’s surprising pitch – “It makes no sense at all to go with me, which is exactly why I think you should” – somehow swayed Tonya, making her the first Team Adam member of the season.

Joe Tolo, 21, a sweetheart from California, auditioned with “To Love Somebody.” Joe’s strategy: to sing with every single emotion he has, worked, and he got Christina and Blake to turn their chairs. Christina was impressed by his pitch and incredible ability to hit the high notes. Christina told Joe that she could help him push his vocals, even giving him an impromptu coaching session by harmonizing the high notes. “Joe, I think we’re a match made in heaven,” Christina told Joe. Pharrell and Adam both agreed, immediately throwing their weight behind Christina.

Drew Parker, a country boy, was next, and, while his performance got the crowd going, he failed to get a chair to turn. The coaches agreed that his vocals were solid, but told him to make sure he connects to the intent of a song.
Mia Z, 15, performs as a lead singer with her family band, and her years of experience certainly came through in her performance of “The Thrill is Gone.” Mia’s raspy tone and daring high notes got Blake and Pharrell to push their buttons. Christina immediately regretted not pushing her button, and was forced to step back and watch Pharrell and Blake battle it out for Mia. Blake complimented her range, as did Pharrell, but Pharrell connected to Mia over a love of the blues.

Blaze Johnson, 23, a Jamaica native who moved to Ohio as a kid, auditioned with “How to Save A Life.” Blaze’s big voice got Adam and Blake to turn their chairs around, and Adam won him over by telling him, “You exist outside the box.”

Bryan Pierce, 39, gave it his all with raspy belts, but failed to get a chair to turn, but he got a standing ovation from the audience.
Deanna Johnson, 18, who auditioned in Season 5, returned to The Voice stage singing “All I Want.” After being sent home in Season 5, Deanna came back with a vengeance and got four chairs to turn around. Pharrell tells Deanna he would have turned a year ago, when she first auditioned. “You can wear a lot of hats,” Pharrell said. “Just like Pharrell does,” Adam added.
Pharrell’s attempts to woo Deanna were strong, but he lost Deanna when Adam told her he wanted to work with her to make her better.
