The finale of The Voice was full of “bring-back performances,” contestants singing with their idols, and the artists we love debuting new songs. It opened with a performance by Little Big Town.

We took a look back at the relationship between Pharrell and Hannah and how much fun they had together throughout the season. Mostly because he embraced her silly and quirky personality. She performed an acoustic version of “Crazy” with Cee-Lo Green.

Alisan brought back Kata Hay, Paxton Ingram, and Ryan Quinn to perform Heart’s “Straight On.” She noted that Paxton especially had a large impact on her throughout the competition and without his friendship she’s not sure how she would have made it.

The judges looked back on their interactions and the fun times they had throughout the season.

Laith Al-Saadi performed “Rocky Mountain Way” with one of his idols, Joe Walsh.

The next judge-contestant relationship looked back upon was Adam Wakefield and Blake Shelton. Blake and Adam both bonded over their senses of humor in addition to Blake showing Adam how to focus on stage.

Sia performed her new song “Cheap Thrill.”

Each of the contestants and coaches had their last confessionals and explained what winning would mean to them.

Adam Wakefield and Alison Krauss performed “Villain.”

We learned about coach Adam Levine’s personal life, including his childhood basketball dreams. Luckily for him he found music since he’s a self-proclaimed “short Jew.”

Hannah brought back Bryan Bautista, Caity Peters, and Brian Nhira. They performed “When We Were Young” by Adele. Hannah noted that they are the closest friends she’s made and they’re still a huge part of her daily life.

Blake’s “gambling problem” was humorously addressed, showing him make silly bets with the coaches, contestants and even Carson at times.

Zayn performed his new single “Like I Would.”

Coach Blake Shelton performed a very personal new song “She’s Got a Way With Words.”

Laith brought back Katie Basden, Shalyah Fearing and Owen Danoff; three fellow contestants he greatly admired. They performed “Georgia On My Mind” by Ray Charles.
Pharrell was seen reading the lyrics of his fellow coaches’ biggest hits as children’s stories to a group of kids who were not very impressed.

We took another look back on the coach-contestant relationship between Adam and Laith. They both expressed that they’ve built a genuine friendship that will go beyond the competition. Adam particularly said he was grateful the show brought them together regardless of the outcome.

Alisan performed “Unlove You” with Jennifer Nettles.

Earlier in the week Carson drove the artists on a little ride to a big surprise. New Nissans! They were each able to

Adam Wakefield brought back Mary Sarah, Nick Hagelin, and Justin Whisnant. He was the closest to them this season and said he had the utmost respect for them all. They performed “Gimme Some Lovin” by The Spencer Davis Group.

The last performances of the night were Ariana Grande belting out her new hit “Into You” before a duet of her other hit “Dangerous Woman” with judge Christina Aguilera.

Christina and Alisan’s relationship throughout the season was explored. They have a lot in common and credit that to the strong friendship they’ve built.

Finally it’s time to reveal the winner after an amazing but long two hours:
