Virginia Roberts Giuffre Accuses Prince Andrew Of Sexual Abuse

Virgina Roberts Giuffre, an alleged victim of late sex offender Jeffery Epstein, has claimed that Prince Andrew sexually abused her at Epstein’s mansion in Manhattan, as well as in other locations when she was a minor.

Giuffre filed a lawsuit on Monday in New York’s federal court. Within the suit, Giuffre accuses the prince of sexual assault, as well as the infliction of intentionally targeted emotional distress.

Giuffre initially accused Prince Andrew in a 2014 public court filing, as part of a case brought by alleged Epstein victims against the United States Department of Justice. In the filings, she claims that Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, forced her to engage sexually against her will with Prince Andrew on three different occasions in 2001 – in London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both Maxwell and representatives from Buckingham Palace immediately denied these accusations.

In a 2019 interview with BBC, Prince Andrew denied all of Giuffre’s accusations, stating that he has “said consistently and frequently that we never had any sort of sexual contact whatever.” Additionally, the prince addressed a photograph within the prosecutor’s evidence that depicts him with his arm around an underage Giuffre’s waist. The prince claims that he does not recall ever meeting Giuffre, and notes that he believes the photo was digitally doctored.

“I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me,” Giuffre’s lawyers report for their client in a press release. “The powerful and the rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions. I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but one can reclaim her life by speaking out and demanding justice.”

Giufrre’s attorney, David Boies, chairman of Boies, Schiller & Flexner, claimed that in the past month, Guiffre’s team has made several attempts to get in touch with Prince Andrew or his advisers to discuss her allegations to avoid litigation, but they have been unable to make contact with anyone as of yet.
