Virginia Giuffre’s Legal Settlement With Epstein Released In Prince Andrew Abuse Lawsuit

Court papers reveal that a legal settlement agreement between Virginia Giuffre and late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was finally released Monday. Prince Andrew’s legal team has attempted to use this agreement to shield him from a sexual abuse lawsuit Giuffre filed on Aug 9, 2021.

The settlement states that Giuffre, then Virginia Roberts, received $500,000 in her 2009 lawsuit against Epstein. Upon receipt of the payment, Giuffre was to “remise, release, acquit, satisfy and forever discharge the said second parties and any other person or entity who could have been included as a potential defendant … from all, and all manner of, actions and actions of Virginia Roberts, including state or federal, cause and causes of action.”

While Andrew was not mentioned, his attorneys are attempting to use the broad language of this settlement by stating that Andrew, “falls into one of the expressly identified categories of persons, ie, royalty, released from liability under the release agreement, along with politicians, academicians, businessmen, and others…” This settlement is still a key factor in their argument to dismiss Giuffre’s suit outright.

Giuffre’s lawyers said Andrew “could not have been a ‘potential defendant’ in the settled against Epstein both because he was not subject to jurisdiction in Florida and because the Florida case involved federal claims to which he was not a part.”

This agreement was also used by Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz in his fight against a 2019 defamation suit Giuffre filed over his denials of sexual misconduct. Dershowitz told The Guardian he was “delighted that this document was unsealed.”

These developments come soon after Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted of 5 of 6 sex trafficking charges. Maxwell has been photographed with Giuffre and Prince Andrew, and Giuffre claims she came into contact with Andrew after being trafficked by Maxwell and Epstein.
