US Marine Corps Cpl. Caleb Earwood and his bride, Maggie Earwood, reveal the story behind their viral wedding photo.
The touching photo went viral after wedding photographer Dwayne Schmidt shared it on his official Facebook page on Saturday, May 23. In the photo, taken before the ceremony, Earwood and Maggie wanted to pray together, but, in keeping with tradition, Earwood didn’t want to see his bride before the wedding, so he positioned himself around the corner from his bride. The emotional couple hold hands in the photo, which Schmidt called “one of the best things I have ever got to see much less photograph.”

“We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will. I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into,” Earwood told TODAY.com.
“When I first grabbed his hand, he was shaking really bad, so I knew he was really nervous…. It relieved me to know the person I was getting ready to marry felt the same way about God,” Maggie added.
Earwood, 21, and Maggie, 22, have been dating for two years, but have known each other since high school. They are currently on their honeymoon in Dollywood, but will be taking some time away from wedded bliss to talk with Fox & Friends on Wednesday.
