Well, at least we know she wasn't lip-synching. Scottish singer Susan Boyle froze during her rendition of "O Holy Night" on The View Tuesday morning, asking to restart her song after pausing due to a crack in her voice. Since The View is live, co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shephard quickly jumped in, brushing off the gaffe.
"You had a frog in your throat!" Shephard said, as she tried to comfort Boyle, who looked aghast.
Boyle, who was discovered on Britain's Got Talent in 2009 and immediately became a YouTube sensation for her version of "I Dreamed a Dream," was on the show to promote her new Christmas album, The Gift. Since its November 8 release, the album has already hit Number 1 on both the U.S. and U.K. charts.
Boyle will try again Tuesday night as she performs during the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center, to be broadcast on NBC. –ISHITA SINGH
