A video has recently surfaced of an unidentified Kellogg’s employee urinating on an assembly line.
The incident in question happened in 2014, spokesperson for the brand Kris Charles said. “We were shocked and deeply disappointed by this video that we just learned of yesterday,” Charles said. “We immediately alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators.”
The video was originally uploaded on worldstarhiphop.com on Friday and is extremely graphic.
The cereal company is reportedly looking into the incident and the FDA is starting a criminal investigation.
Kellogg sent the following statement after the video went viral:
“Kellogg takes this situation very seriously and we were shocked and deeply disappointed by this video that we just learned of yesterday. We immediately alerted law enforcement authorities and regulators. A criminal investigation is underway as well as a thorough internal investigation.
“Our investigation revealed that the video was recorded at our Memphis, TN facility, in 2014. Products that could have been potentially affected were Rice Krispies Treats, Rice Krispies Treats cereal and puffed rice cake products, all of which would be past expiration date.
“Food quality is of the utmost importance to Kellogg Company. We are outraged by this completely unacceptable situation, and we will work closely with authorities to prosecute to the full extent of the law.”
The video is suggested to have been made during a time that the company and workers were were at odds over wage negotiations.
Seibert speculated, “If struggle without context is baffling, heaven without struggle isn’t very interesting.”
The shooter was identified to be John R. Lyons, 24, of Westchester, Illinois.
