Less than two months after its failed seventh mission, SpaceX’s Starship exploded during its eighth flight test on Thursday. This footage shows debris light up the skies over Turks and Caicos as the source dined on the harbor. In a post to X, SpaceX said, “the vehicle experienced a rapid unscheduled disassembly” during its ascent, cutting off contact. “We will review the data from today’s flight test to better understand root cause,” the company said. “As always, success comes from what we learn, and today’s flight will offer additional lessons to improve Starship’s reliability.”
