VIDEO: Rihanna Sued By Photographer David LaChapelle

If there wasn't enough controversy surrounding Rihanna's new single, "S&M," which has already been banned in several countries, there's now a lawsuit surrounding the art design of the song's music video.

Celebrity photographer David LaChapelle, whose work has been prominently featured in magazines like Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair, has filed a lawsuit against the pop star, claiming that her video ripped off photos he previously shot, reports UK's Daily Mail. The suit, which was made public on Monday, states that "the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle works." It goes on to site at least eight images that copy the "composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting" of LaChapelle's original work.

One clip shows Rihanna in front of blue background with her head encased in latex and a piece of candy between her lips. Another features the diva in a psychedelic pink room, sporting a huge, red, curly-haired wig. Yet another depicts her wearing a tight white dress decorated with newspaper print, which LaChapelle claims is a rip-off of a photo he took of Lady Gaga with newspaper headlines pasted to her body.

The famed photographer tweeted, "The next time you make a David LaChapelle music video you should probably hire David LaChapelle." —KIMBERLY STEELE
