VIDEO: Madrid Police Rescue 50 Cats Found In Filthy Conditions

Police in Madrid have rescued over 50 cats living in dire conditions, lacking food, water, and surrounded by filth, local news reported.

Police said the cats were found in a facility run by an unlicensed and uninsured organization posing as an animal shelter.

The establishment had announced an adoption event for December 9, local news said.

Environmental officials were investigating the owner on charges of animal cruelty.
