Kristen Stewart sat down with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show Wednesady night to talk about something other than Twilight or Robert Pattinson, her new film co-starring Dakota Fanning, The Runaways, set for release in April.

Based off a book by the same name, The Runaways is the true story of the 70’s all-girl rock group founded by Cherie Currie (Fanning) and Joan Jett (Stewart). Stewart dished about what it was like to actually work with the real Jett to help her play the character. "I was so intimidated," she said. "I was about to do New Moon.’ I sort of thought she was going to look at me and [want to replace me because I had long hair]. We spent three weeks together, [and] every day she told me things I could never say."

Stewart thinks that having Jett on the set was an invaluable resource. "Playing a real person, you always feel the pressure," she says. "It’s, like, if I don’t get every little thing right I’m going to kill myself. And we have very different tics. We’re both, like, ridden with tics, but they’re a completely different set of them…There’s only so much a script and footage and photos can show you." –JOE GALBO
