Katherine Heigl teared up while talking about her late brother on The Tonight Show Thursday. The Knocked Up star was on the show promoting her new film Killers when Jay Leno had her talking about her adopted daughter, Naleigh, and how motherhood has opened her eyes to how devastating it must have been for her own mom when her brother died in a car accident 20 years ago. "This is so awful, I’m sorry," the actress said as she talked about feeling very emotional and "the overwhelming need to keep her [Naleigh] safe."
Last September, Heigl and her husband Josh Kelly adopted a special-needs baby who had to go through open heart surgery prior to adoption. "Her heart is 100 percent fine now," the actress told Harper’s Bazaar recently. "She has a scar, so she won’t be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us." –KRIS ALCANTARA
