Thursday's episode of The View turned out to be the site of a particularly "hot topic," as it welcomed teenage singing sensation Justin Bieber as one of its panelists. Usual female commentators Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, emerged from backstage to take their seats, accompanied by the pint-sized Bieber, who got a standing ovation from the audience before he even sat down.
Goldberg clarified, "We don't usually have men on the panel," but that today was an exception. The smitten women proceeded to grill Bieber on everything from his famous pipes to his love life. Under duress, he broke into several bars of a song from Never Say Never, the film he put out earlier this year about his rise to stardom. The excited audience clapped along to the rhythm.
When Shepherd went in about his alleged love life with Selena Gomez, however, he suddenly become quieter. "Say no," Goldberg warned him of answering any questions about his personal life, at which point he gratefully extended his arm for a fist-bump.
Bieber is in New York launching his new fragrance "Someday," from which all of the proceeds will go to charity.
