VIDEO: ‘Heartbreaking’ Mountain Fire Destroys Homes Over 20 Acres In California’s Ventura County
A fast-moving brush fire that broke out in California’s Ventura County on November 6 had destroyed “numerous” homes by the next day, officials said.
As of Thursday, the fire was an estimated 19,643 acres in size with no containment, according to Cal Fire.
Crews dealt with low water pressure and power outages that inpaired their work. Scores of homes were burned to their chimneys.
Footage posted by Ventura County Supervisor Jeff Gorell shows smoldering remains of structures in Camarillo on Thursday.
“Heartbreaking,” he said on X.
Ten people were reported injured, most from smoke inhalation, but there were no reports of life-threatening injuries or deaths.
