Tara Lipinski, the Olympic figure skating gold medalist and sports commentator, is hosting the new series Wedding Talk, which highlights the best of weddings across all cultures.

She recently sat down for a conversation with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss her new show.

“When the opportunity rolled around, I just thought, ‘Wow, this is amazing and a perfect fit for me,'” Lipinski said. “I’m a hopeless romantic. I love love. I love weddings, I loved planning my own wedding. I can’t wait to do a vow renewal because I’ve learned so much. My career has taken me down so many different paths from being an athlete to the entertainment world as a broadcaster, commentator and analyst to now a host. I’m sort of used to jumping around to all different areas and this one by far is just a dream job because it’s so fun.”

The host shared a few things that couples should watch out for in their weddings.

“I remember jotting down things so if I ever do another big event or play a party or a vow renewal, I will have this all noted,” she said. “There are things that we go through checklists for. When you’re planning a wedding, there are things you don’t know and you don’t seem to think about and that’s how I felt as I was planning my wedding. I just thought, ‘Should I do this? How long should this ceremony be? What should this do?’ They really help give us the insider take on the little tips that you probably should add.”

Lapinksi also revealed what it was like having her partner in the broadcast booth and former figure skater Johnny Weir as a bridesman at her own wedding.

“He was my bridesman, standing right next to me in his baby blue with his tail and sparkles,” she said. “He walked down to Lady Gaga – You know, things like that where you make it your own and personalize it. My dog also made a debut!”

Wedding Talk is now streaming on Chicken Soup for the Soul and Crackle Streaming Apps.
