VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Savannah Lee Smith, Brooke Lena Johnson & Sara Silva Share Their Sexiest Scenes For ‘Cruel Intentions’

Actresses Savannah Lee Smith, Brooke Lena Johnson and Sara Silva sat down for a conversation with uInterview to share favorite moments from their new Prime series, Cruel Intentions.

Cruel Intentions is a new drama series, based on the 1988 movie, that follows step-siblings Caroline and Lucien as they battle to control the social ladder at an elite college. In the wake of a hazing scandal, the pair plots to woo the daughter of the president of the United States to maintain power.

Asked to look back on their most challenging scenes to film, Johnson told uInterview founder Erik Meers: “I would have to say my first day of shooting, I filmed my sex scene, and I had never done that before. I was actually so pleasantly surprised. We had a fantastic intimacy coordinator on the show who made me feel comfortable in two seconds.”

Smith in turn, recalled, “I would say probably the kiss, the infamous kiss, because, not that I was nervous…but I, on the page, I don’t think I fully got the tone of the scene. But on the day on set, we worked together, and [directors] helped me understand the tone that they wanted for the scene, and it worked out perfectly. It’s great to have, you know, really kind people who have a really strong vision because it makes it so much easier.”

Silva thought back on her own experience, “Definitely for me, it would be an emotional scene that I have near the end of the season, that I think I was getting kind of psyched up for, and it is like some hard kind of material – just from an acting perspective for the character – it was definitely hard to reach an emotional place when there are like, extras around – it was a first for me, so that was challenging but I’m very happy with the turnout.”

The three actresses reflected on their favorite behind-the-scenes moments from filming. Smith reminisced, “The headband situation was really fun to film just because there was a lot going on, and it was action-packed. I mean, just that whole sequence where [we go on a scavenger hunt], that was really fun to do because I got to, like, run and really step into my character physically – which isn’t something that Annie necessarily gets to do often, so that was really fun. It was fun to play tug of war with a headband with someone I met like, two hours before.”

Silva shared, “I think we all kind of felt like we were just at a big summer camp, like, as young actors, so we did have a lot of fun on set, and we really did carry that energy off set. I feel like that really shows in the show that our chemistry is really tight and real.”

Episodes of Cruel Intentions are available to stream on Prime Video.
