Indian ballet prodigy Manish Chauhan discussed his journey from street performer in Mumbai to ballet dancer on the stages of Manhattan, which is the subject of the new documentary Call Me Dancer, in an exclusive uInterview video. “I joined the studio, I joined for the contemporary to do some contemporary classes,” he told uInterview founder Erik Meers. “But I never knew about ballet in India, because there is not a single ballet school. When you say you’re doing a ballet, people think you’re doing a belly dance.” Call Me Dancer is now available to stream on the PBS app.
