VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Holland Roden, Noemi Gonzalez & Erin Cahill Share Their Favorite Moments On Set Filming ‘Hollydazed’

Actresses Holland Roden, Noemi Gonzalez and Erin Cahill sat down with uInterview to share the message behind their new Hallmark series Hollydazed.

Cahill jumped in to give some background on the new show: “Holidazed is an eight-episode limited series. You meet everyone in the pilot and, kind of Love Actually style, you don’t know how we all fit together.”

“All the families are interconnected geographically but not necessarily relationally—you’re still not sure,” Roden told uInterview founder Erik Meers.

Gonzalez discussed the show’s theme. “It’s really a neighborhood feeling, really understanding the neighborhood vibes in the holiday season,” she said.  

Cahill added, “And, therefore, it does what Hallmark does best, which is unity, and family, and connection – and that’s what we all do in the show, too.”

Gonzalez further explained the plotline, through her character’s eyes. “I come back home, [Roden’s character] was my best friend in high school, [Cahill is my] current friend that stayed at home – and you get to find out how we live and work and come back to the community,” she said.

Asked to reflect on what they will remember from the filming process, Gonzalez said, “As it developed, it was really cool to see when we would go into each others’ worlds. And so a really brilliant scene…we were there for [my character’s] brother, the person [Roden’s] dating, and it was just wonderful to be like, through all the chaos that holidays can bring, that filming can bring this connection and this understanding of story and development – I was like, this is so cool.”

Roden shared of her experience, “[there’re] a lot of these reveals throughout the series.” Cahill added, “The creative energy was off the charts – you never knew what was going to happen on set.”

When asked what the actors hoped their audience would take away from the series, Roden deadpanned, “That 32 series regulars can happen in a show. It can be done…It is the largest cast, I think for sure Hallmark has done, and arguably on TV.”

Cahill piggybacked along on Roden’s point, “With that many humans, it’s going to be at times messy and chaotic. The show is about how, as humans we are all messy at times, and families and holidays certainly are, it’s about coming together and finding communication and finding bridges and finding love and finding family and community.

Gonzalez shared, “Definitely the sense of community during the holidays, we’re all feeling similarly where it’s very exciting, with a lot of excitement comes a lot of organizations, a lot of pressure, the decorations, all that jazz. So to remember your neighbors and to see how you’re all going through the year and wrapping it up is something to keep in mind while you enjoy your season.
