VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Hero Fiennes Tiffin On Playing A Zombie For ‘The Loneliest Boy In The World’

The Loneliest Boy In The World, a comedic horror film, follows Oliver as he copes with the death of his mother in unusual ways.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who plays Mitch, recently sat down with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss why he wanted to sign on to the project.

“It’s stupid and silly in the best ways,” Tiffin said. “I read the script and I was literally just laughing out loud and specifically, the character and the fun I knew I’d have playing someone so happy-go-lucky probably because he’s dead and has nothing to worry about and nothing to lose. Also, having prosthetics and working with Martin and Max … It didn’t take much convincing. I knew I was going to have fun on this one from the moment I read it.”

The actor also revealed what it was like acting in prosthetics.

“That stuff took a while, because it’s a real art form,” Tiffin said. “It’s meticulous and it shows because it looks so convincing, even in person. I would touch my ribs and my brain would think I was going to feel my own ribs because you really feel like its part of your body. They line it all up to where your actual ribs would be by taking a cast of your body first. It really is so convincing and transforms you for sure.”

Tiffin continued on, divulging his favorite moment while working on the film.

“We stayed in a hotel that was kind of a very homely, small hotel, that because of lockdown for Covid, it was just the cast staying there. Every time we came back from set, we started to develop this real family bond off-screen and hopefully, that seeped into our work on screen. I think just the nights after long shoots and coming back there or playing cards together, really that bonding, so the next day it would show on screen. We just had a great time filming, it was such a great group. We enjoyed ourselves a lot off-screen as well.”

The Loneliest Boy In The World is playing in select theaters now.
