Actress Georgia Lock reflected on her time on the set of the film Strictly Confidential in her new uInterview.
Directed by Damian Hurley, Strictly Confidential follows a young woman who can’t accept that her best friend killed herself as she journies back to a Caribbean island to investigate her death.
“Honestly, it was an honor,” she told uInterview founder Erik Meers of working with Hurley. “This film is special to me for a lot of reasons, but I met Damian through this project, and he’s become a very close friend of mine. I’m extremely fond of him.”
“What I love about how he directs is that you can see he is thinking about how beautiful the shot is going to look,” she continued. “He’s considered that. I feel like you could pause this movie anywhere, and it would be a beautiful scene that you could paint. He’s got real artistry in what he does.”
Lock described her character in the film as “a haunted young woman who’s desperately trying to come to terms with the tragic loss of her friend. But then she’s drawn into this rather seductive world of duplicity and betrayal, and she’s desperately trying to uncover some answers,” she said. “But it feels like every time she’s getting a bit closer to the truth, there’s another twist, and more questions are raised.”
Lock spoke on what draws her to a character or role. “I just love a good story,” she observed. “I love a script when you read it and think, ‘Gosh, I would love to tell this story. That would be amazing.’ So anything that has a great story, I’m down.”
The actress relished her moments behind the scenes working on the film. “We filmed it in such a short amount of time, which I think added to the feeling of the film in a way because the character is on a mission and just constantly searching for answers,” she noted. “So it kind of married well together that our schedule was so tight.”
“Working with friends, these people are so special to me,” she said. “I think that’s the main takeaway, to be honest. It’s just a warm feeling thinking about this film.”
