In the British rom-com Rye Lane, Dom (David Jonsson) and Yas (Vivian Oparah) galavant through South London’s playgrounds and karaoke bars while trying to mend their broken hearts.

In an exclusive interview with uInterview, Jonsson and Oparah discussed what it was like being at Sundance Film Festive in Park City, Utah for the movie’s premiere.

“Honestly there’s no other way to say it, it is like full-on amazing. We just love watching great films with great actors,” Jonsson said.

Oparah continued, “Yeah, it’s crazy. It kind of just feels like a fairytale.”

The two reflected on their characters, and how they are – and aren’t like them.

“Yas is like a hurricane,” Oparah explained. “She will spin into your life, suck you up into her life and take you along for a ride. And if you aren’t subscribed to her fantasy, she’ll spit you out as quickly as she picked you up.”

Jonsson followed, “Dom is a good man. He’s cool. I think he knows what he wants to say, just doesn’t know how to say it. He plays things very by the book. So he needs someone like Yas.”
