Talk show host and American Idol judge Ellen DeGeneres has decided to jump on the bandwagon, becoming another celebrity to start her own record label.
The decision was inspired by her discovery of twelve-year-old Greyson Chance, whom DeGeneres found earlier this month on YouTube performing a cover of Lady Gaga’s "Paparazzi" at a recent school festival. The rendition quickly went viral and currently has over 20 million views.
DeGeneres featured him in her Wonderful Web of Wonderment segment and brought him to the studio to give a live performance on her show the next day. Chance, who has been compared to Justin Bieber, said he had been taking piano lessons for three years but had never taken voice lessons before.
DeGeneres says she will continue to use her show as a platform for up and coming artists. –ELENA COX
