Police in Massachusetts have found proof that going down chimneys is really best left to the expert – Santa – with a suspect who tried to hide in one having to be extricated by a local fire crew before being arrested.
According to the City of Fall River Police Department, detectives were conducting a search warrant in Fall River on Dec. 10 when two males fled from the residence via the rooftop.
One suspect managed to evade capture by jumping from the roof onto a parked car. The other, identified as 33-year-old Robert Langlais, took a page from a holiday classic and tried to hide in the chimney, where he became stuck, according to the police.

“Due to his Santa-antics, Langlais was transported to a local hospital out of precaution and was medically cleared,” police said.
Langlais was formally arrested for possession of drugs, and a slew of charges from outstanding warrants.
