From Alaskan caribou to Christmas icons, Sarah Palin has some explaining to do, according to Conan O’Brien.
The comedian revealed some rather shocking news Wednesday night on his TBS late-night show, Conan. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was just on TV,” he began. “They updated it to make the Rudolph story a little more contemporary.” Conan then cut to footage from the beloved American classic movie, which was spliced with clips from the now-notorious episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska, in which the former governor was seen cocking and aiming a rifle on a hunting trip.
The clip ends with the animated reindeer falling, injured, on the ground before cutting to real footage of Palin saying, “It’s a great feeling of accomplishment.”
Conan is experiencing backlash from the joke, all right, but not from Palin’s supporters. It seems that Coco is being attacked for being a copycat. Just two weeks ago, Jimmy Kimmel made a very similar joke on his late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. —KIMBERLY STEELE
