Emergency crews from two agencies rescued a hiker clinging to the side of a cliff near a beach in San Francisco on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Footage released by the CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations Unit shows a crew member being lowered down from a helicopter to the man, who was yelling for help on the side of a cliff near Baker Beach.
The crew member is seen rescuing the man and lowering him down to the beach, where San Francisco Fire personnel evaluated him for injuries.
According to a local news report, the man wasn’t injured and refused any medical attention. The CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations Unit did not release information on why the man was on the cliff, but a firefighter told local media the man was hiking away from a marked trail when he slipped and fell down the cliff.
