An English cat was rescued by firefighters after getting its head stuck in a drainpipe in the seaside town of Clevedon on Saturday, November 23.
Images released by the Clevedon Firefighters shows John, a female cat, stuck in a garage drainpipe, and a firefighter holding the cat in his arms as the multi-step rescue proceeds.
Firefighters said that the crew used ladders and small tools to cut John out.
“The easiest and least distressing option was to cut a section of the pipe out with John in situ,” the firefighters said.
The cat was later transported to a local vet, who said the animal was given “oxygen therapy and sedation whilst the pipe was removed by the fire brigade.”
John’s owner said the cat was “completely fine” after the rescue and the visit to the vet, according to the BBC.
