At least six people were killed in Ukraine early on Nov. 11, amid reports that the U.S. had told Russian President Vladimir Putin not to escalate the war there.

At least five people were reported killed following Russian strikes on the city of Mykolaiv, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) said.

Footage released by the SES showed emergency crews dousing fires and searching through rubble. Some survivors are seen being tended to by emergency workers.

On the same day, one person was killed and at least 22 people injured after Russian airstrikes targeted the city of Zaporizhzhia, while at least seven people were injured after a Russian missile hit an apartment building in Kryvyi Rih.

On Nov. 7, bombs rained down on Kyiv, starting major fires in the city.
