In a move to both protect and profit from her daughter’s name, Victoria Beckham registered “Harper Beckham” as trademarked property with the U.K.’s Intellectual Property Office.
The former Spice Girl also filed the same papers for her three sons, Brooklyn Beckham, 18, Romeo Beckham, 14, and Cruz Beckham, 12. But while the three boys have started to establish their own professional careers – it isn’t unusual for celebrities to trademark their name at that point – Harper is only five and yet to begin any professional pursuit.
By registering her daughter’s name, Beckham will be able to produce branded toys and clothing. Beckham is listed as the holder of the rights as guardian and parent and therefore will be the only person legally allowed to brand products with the name “Harper Beckham.”
Victoria and her husband, former soccer star David Beckham, registered their names for trademark in 2002 and 2000 respectively.
Brooklyn Beckham is currently putting together his first book of photography, a medium which he has been practicing for several years. Romeo Beckham has modeled for Burberry in the past. Cruz Beckham is pursuing music and released his first singe, “If Every Day Was Christmas,” in December 2016.
Beckham’s children’s names are only trademarked in the U.K. and Europe.
