‘Very Disillusioned’ With America, Ellen DeGeneres & Wife Portia De Rossi Move To England After Trump’s Election

Former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have moved to the United Kingdom in response to Donald Trump‘s win in the presidential election.

DeGeneres and de Rossi are now living in the Cotswolds in South West England – almost two hours from London.

In this area, they will have neighbors like David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Patrick Stewart, Elizabeth Hurley, Jeremy Clarkson and Damien Hirst.

The area is also home to King Charles and Queen Camilla, who own Highgrove House in Gloucestershire.

Last week, DeGeneres and de Rossi visited Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in the area.

In an Instagram clip that actress Lisa Hogan shared, the couple was seen sipping on drinks as they enjoyed live music at the pub.

The comedian and her wife are preparing to put their Montecito, California mansion on the market in an attempt to start a new life in England. The couple are reportedly not likely to return to the U.S. permanently.

DeGeneres purchased the property in England prior to the election. Sources told TMZ that they “scooped up” their mansion before “the election … but were ‘very disillusioned’ with Trump’s victory,” and they quickly chose” ‘to get the hell out.'”

In May 2022, DeGeneres ended her talk show Ellen after 3,000 episodes.

In July, she announced plans to step away from the spotlight after her current stand-up tour and upcoming Netflix special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval.
