Vanessa Minnillo, 30, the stunning bride-to-be who stole Nick Lachey's heart after his famous split from reality show costar Jessica Simpson, knows how to prepare for a wedding.
The former Miss Teen USA and Entertainment Tonight correspondent has been hitting the gym with her trainer, Gunnar Peterson, to get in top shape for the big day, reports Us Weekly. She and Lachey have been an item for four years and Minnillo wants to walk down the aisle in the same shape she was in when she stole his heart. "I want him to see the girl he fell in love with," she said. "I want to stay true to who I am, but, you know, a better version."
Minnillo prefers working out to depriving herself, opting for a five-meal-a-day delivery service in lieu of restriction. She and Peterson sweat it out three times a week at an hour a pop. "He trains me like an athlete," she said. "When I started, I remember thinking, 'Ugh, I'm trying to win the Super Bowl!' But now I like it."
Though the date of the couple's union is being kept under wraps, the elegant wedding shower Minnillo held Sunday night on the rooftop of the London Hotel in West Hollywood, indicates that the big day is rapidly approaching. "Their party took in the private rooftop garden surrounded by tall hedges and several security guards," a source told the magazine. "There was lots of mingling and Nick and Vanessa stayed close to each other for most of the night" another insider said. "They were holding hands and walking around greeting people. They both seemed very excited for the party and to spend the weekend with their closest friends."
