Vanessa Bryant, widow of Kobe Bryant, breaks her silence through an Instagram post for first time following the tragic helicopter crash.
“There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved. We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives,” Bryant writes.
NBA star Kobe Bryant, 41, and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, 13, died January 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash en route from John Wayne Airport to Camarillo Airport along with seven others. Bryant often used helicopters as his means of transportation to pick up his children from school to avoid the time consuming Los Angeles traffic.
She went on to post a series of photos and clips from a Jersey Retirement ceremony held for daughter, Gianna Bryant, at her school.
“I’ve been so lucky to have woken up to see your gorgeous face and amazing smile for 13 years. Wish it would’ve been until my last breath.”
Vanessa Bryant has set her profile photo to a picture of Kobe holding Gianna in his arms. She has also included a link to The Mamba Sports Foundation in her Instagram bio, urging fans to donate to support the families impacted by the tragedy.
