Vampire Weekend’s 2024 tour began on April 8, three days after the release of their fifth album, Only God Was Above Us, and will end on October 17.
This marks the band’s first extensive tour since supporting their 2019 album, Father of the Bride, with only a few festival appearances in 2021 and 2022 to bridge the gap.
The tour commenced with a record release event in Austin, Texas, followed by performances at several prominent festivals, such as the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Kilby Block Party and Primavera Sound.
Throughout the summer the band has been traveling across North America and made stops in major cities such as Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and New York City. Vampire Weekend’s tour will conclude where it began, back in Austin at the Moody Center.
The band has a diverse lineup of opening acts for their 2024 tour with a range of musical styles and eras. Notable supporting acts include Phish’s Mike Gordon, Maya Rudolph’s Prince tribute band Princess, The English Beat, Ra Ra Riot, Cults, and the Billy Joel tribute group Turnstiles.
Additional openers include The Brothers Macklovitch (featuring A-Trak and Chromeo’s Dave-1), La Lom, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and a DJ set by Mark Ronson.
