Val Kilmer
After Tom Cruise confirmed on Australian morning show Sunrise that Top Gun would have a sequel soon, Val Kilmer joined in on the excitement.
The original co-star in the 1986 film posted to social media, saying he was ready for the sequel. “Friends said it’s official – #TOPGUN2 was announced today,” he said, captioning a photo of himself in an Iceman t-shirt. “I’m ready Tom– still got my top gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it!”
“I’m going to start filming it probably in the next year,” Cruise said on TV. “It is definitely happening.”
Kilmer addressed his interest in doing a Top Gun sequel last month during a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA). When asked if he would do the film, he responded, “Hell yes, what a hoot it will be.”
