Ukrainian actor Pasha Lee was killed in action under Russian shelling in Irpin while fighting for his country, the Odesa International Film Festival reported on Sunday. Lee was 33 years old.
Lee put his acting and hosting career on hold and joined Ukraine’s territorial defense unit after Russia invaded Ukraine in the early hours of February 24.
The actor had been documenting his time on the front lines on Instagram, helping raise awareness on what was going on in Ukraine around the globe.
“For the last 48 hours there is an opportunity to sit down and take a picture of how we are being bombed, and we are smiling because we will manage and everything will be UKRAINE 🇺🇦 WE ARE WORKING!!!” said a translated version of his last caption, posted on Saturday.
The actor was known for his dubbing work on movies like The Hobbit and The Lion King. He also had roles in films like Meeting of Classmates, The Fight Rules and Selfie Party.
