Tyrese Gibson revealed that he and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson had settled their longstanding feud. The beef between the Fast & Furious stars was settled after a recent four-hour phone call.
Gibson appeared via video for an interview on the latest episode of Comedy Central’s Stir Crazy with Josh Horowitz. After reminiscing about his past working on the set of Transformers as well as promoting his latest Netflix project, The Christmas Chronicles Volume 2, Gibson revealed that he and The Rock had both come to terms and made peace. In his own words, “Me and The Rock peaced up,” he said while garbed in Christmas paraphernalia. “We talked for like four hours about three weeks ago. Yeah, we talked… It was great. What’s interesting about the Fast and the Furious is, it’s not about any of us individually. See, we’re like the U.N. at this point.”
The first whiff that something was amiss between the two came on social media in 2017 when Gibson referred to Johnson as a “clown” due to F9 being delayed, so Johnson’s spin-off with Jason Statham, Hobbes and Shaw, could hit cinemas in 2019 instead. The idea for the spin-off came after the realization of Johnson and Statham’s onscreen chemistry, though Gibson took offense to Johnson’s agreeing to the idea. Gibson wrote, “They offered, but YOU didn’t have to agree with a solo.”

Johnson did not respond directly to the accusation but did tweet a day later, “My goal from day 1 was to come in and create an exciting/fun character for the fans, elevate the franchise and build it out.”
