In a video posted to X, conservative political commentator and conspiracy theorist Tucker Carlson declared Affirmative Action to be an act of “anti-racism.”
He captioned the six-minute-long video, “The Biden administration is importing millions of third world immigrants to live here illegally, and at same time telling them that white people are the source of their problems. How’s that going to work out in the end?”
Carlson started the video, “Recent white men are at a structural disadvantage in getting jobs and getting contracts and getting into schools; there’s kind of no pretending it’s anything but what it seems to be.”
He continued that America has long been known as a land of opportunity, and implied that it is a meritocracy. He then claimed that affirmative action inverted that, and went on to say that when immigrants come to America they are immediately told white men are evil, which “inculcated racism,” and gave the workplace a “corporate Jim Crow structure.”
He referred to this as “racial fascism,” and “a much more widespread, vicious form of Jim Crow.”
Carlson continued that CEO of IBM Arvin Krishna, an immigrant, is a perfect example of someone who “bought in” to the “modern Jim Crow.”
He then presented a video of Krishna making a statement to his employees, in which he required his executives to hire a minimum of 1% more minorities. He stated that employees who failed to meet this requirement would lose their bonuses.
After Carlson condemned this video for so-called “blatant” racism, he went on to have a conversation with Stephen Miller, former senior adviser to Donald Trump, who was furious in his condemnation of Krishna’s decision.
Miller went on to paint a scenario in which a white man goes to college and gives up “years of his productive life hoping that one day, maybe, just maybe his dreams will be fulfilled…only to have…somebody came along and said you are not the right race you are a straight white male you are not getting this job and in fact because you haven’t promoted people based on this system, your life is over now!”
Miller concluded furiously, “The system is meant to crush spirits, to break people!”
Carlson recently said that he was “flattered” by speculation that he would be Trump’s running mate in 2024.
