Trump’s Physician, Dr. Bruce Aronwald, A Member Of Trump National Golf Club, Raises Questions With His Glowing-But-Vague Health Reports For Ex-President

Dr. Bruce A. Aronwald, Donald Trump‘s physician, has raised eyebrows with his unusual reports about the former president’s health. Aronwald is a member of Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

On November 20, 2023, Trump posted a letter from Aronwald to his social media platform, Truth Social, reporting that, after his medical examination on September 13, 2023, he is in “excellent” mental and physical health.

The physician, who has been treating the former president since 2021, wrote that his “physical exams were well within the normal range, and his cognitive exams were exceptional.”

He also mentioned that the recent lab results had been “even more favorable than prior testing on some of the most significant parameters.” The letter, however, did not cite any evidence supporting his claims, including measures of blood pressure or cholesterol levels, and did not contain any test results.

Trump’s clean bill of health came as both Democrats and Republicans have said that he and President Joe Biden are too old to run for president in 2024.

Like Biden’s personal physician, Kevin C. O’Connor, Aronwald is an osteopathic physician, a field of medicine that aims to address a patient’s health holistically.

Trump’s physician is originally from Bridgewater, New Jersey. He had attended Syracuse University before getting his osteopathic degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1986.

In 2002, he joined the concierge medicine business, which serves a wealthy clientele.

The doctor stated that Trump’s frequent “interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance will continue to allow him to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle for years to come.”

Detractors quickly noted how vague the medical report was.

Aronwald neglected to report the former president’s blood test numbers, and it did not mention his weight, without which, it is impossible to figure out if he would be considered obese.

The report also contained no medications that Trump is taking.

A previous report conducted by a different doctor and revealed in 2018 showed that Trump weighed 239 pounds, which made him borderline obese for his 6’3” height.

By contrast, Biden’s recent medical report was six-pages long, giving readers a more in-depth assessment of the president’s health.

It consisted of cholesterol, blood pressure, weight metrics and an electrocardiogram. It also showed details of the president’s blood tests and what medications he is currently taking.

“Joe Biden is proud to have been transparent with his health records as vice president, as a presidential candidate, and as president,” White House spokesman Andrew Bates stated after Biden’s report was released.

He also said the president “believes all leaders owe that level of honesty to the American people.”

Trump’s vague health report had become more controversial once it was discovered that Aronwald had been a long-time member of the former president’s golf course in Bedminster, which opened in 2004.

This physician is reported to be a regular member of this club. Members usually see him interacting with Trump and his family near the pool and have even called him “a fixture” of the golf club.

People began questioning whether Trump may have exerted unwarranted influence on his physician when writing the medical report due to the doctor’s membership at the golf club.

When asked for comment, Trump told The Washington Post that “Dr. Aronwald is one of the best doctors in all of New Jersey and possibly the entire country.”

“He has a great reputation, and I have many friends who have been his patients for years,” he said. “A great doctor.”

During a January 20 rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Trump told his supporters that he passed a cognitive test designed to measure for dementia.

These comments were made in response to former presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s question about whether Trump was mentally capable of being president again after he repeatedly confused her with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a campaign speech on January 19.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis also suggests that the former president had “lost his fastball.”
