Trump Supporters Create Fake AI Photos Of Trump With Black Voters, Critics Cry Foul
Supporters of former President Donald Trump have created and spread AI-generated images of the former president with black voters to increase support for their candidate.
The fake images show Trump surrounded by numerous black people seemingly in support of Trump.
Florida radio host Mark Kaye admitted to generating some of the images. However, Kaye denied having any ties to Trump’s campaign. One of Kaye’s images shows Trump surrounded by a group of happy black women. Kaye posted the image to his Facebook where he has over one million followers.
“I’m not a photojournalist,” Kaye told the BBC. “I’m not out there taking pictures of what’s really happening. I’m a storyteller.”
Many users on social media were quickly able to identify the images as AI through the overly smooth skin and missing fingers on certain people. Others believed the images to be real.
Critics immediately cried foul, calling the photos “misleading.”
Last week, Trump sparked outrage when he said that he appealed to black voters because he had a mugshot and numerous criminal charges against him.
Trump has frequently cited his pardons of rappers, including Kodak Black, who was arrested again soon after receiving his pardon, as a reason black voters should back him.
