Trump Revokes Secret Service Protection Assigned To Hunter & Ashley Biden ‘Effective Immediately’
President Donald Trump announced that he was revoking the Secret Service protection assigned to Joe Biden’s children, Hunter Biden and Ashley Biden, “effective immediately.”
Federal law grants former presidents and their spouses lifelong Secret Service protection, but the protection granted to their immediate families over the age of 16 ceases when they leave office.
Despite this, outgoing presidents can extend protection for those who may otherwise not be eligible for up to six months after they leave office.

Before leaving the office in January, Biden extended this protection for his children in July.
Trump instructed that this protection be extended to his four adult children and two of their spouses days before he left office in January 2021.
While touring the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Monday afternoon, a reporter told the president that “there were 18 Secret Service agents protecting Hunter Biden in South Africa this weekend.”
“Who’s paying for that,” the reporter then asked. “Would you plan to revoke the Secret Service protection?”
“Well, we have done that with many,” Trump stated. “I would say if there are 18 with Hunter Biden, that will be something I’ll look at this afternoon.”
Later that day, the president confirmed that he would revoke Hunter’s and Ashley’s Secret Service details.
“Hunter Biden has had Secret Service protection for an extended period, all paid for by the United States Taxpayer,” he wrote on Truth Social. “There are as many as 18 people on this Detail, which is ridiculous! He is currently vacationing in, of all places, South Africa, where the Human Rights of people have been strenuously questioned. Because of this, South Africa has been taken off our list of Countries receiving Economic and Financial Assistance. Please be advised that, effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection. Likewise, Ashley Biden, who has 13 agents, will be removed from the list.”
There has been no immediate reaction from Joe Biden’s office.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement that the agency is “aware of the President’s decision to terminate protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden.”
“The Secret Service will comply and is actively working with the protective details and the White House to ensure compliance as soon as possible,” Guglielmi added.
Agents guarding Hunter and Ashley can not leave their posts until the required paperwork approving Trump’s order is placed in.
Sources confirmed that the process of ending protection given to the Biden clan was set to start on Tuesday.
In late January, the president terminated the Secret Service detail that was previously assigned to National Security Advisor John Bolton.
