Trump Prosecutor Fani Willis Says She Keeps Large Sums Of Cash At Home In Testimony During Effort To Remove Her From Case

Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis is fighting to maintain her position as the chief prosecutor in the Donald Trump election fraud case after her affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade was exposed.

A defense attorney first questioned Willis and Wade’s relationship after Wade divorced his wife one day after being appointed special prosecutor. A Georgie judge ordered the divorce case to be unsealed, revealing credit card charges as evidence of an affair between Willis and Wade.

On Thursday, Willis defended herself against the court to remain on the Trump election interference case. Willis shouted on the stand, “It’s a lie!” when questioned by the defense.

“You’ve been intrusive into people’s personal lives,” Willis said. “You’re confused, you think I’m on trial. These people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020. I’m not on trial no matter how hard you try to put me on trial.”

When asked to explain why she repaid Wade in cash for expensive trips, Willis responded that her “daddy” taught her “a man is not a plan” and to always have enough cash to pay her own way. She detailed that she keeps large sums of cash in a safe at her home for that purpose.

Willis agreed to testify after a former friend claimed Willis and Wade’s affair began earlier than they reported, saying the two were “kissing and hugging” in 2019. According to Willis’ testimony, she and Wade ended their relationship due to professional conflicts and not because of Trump’s indictment.

Willis will return to court on Friday for further questioning.

Trump has made bizarre claims about Willis on social media, including that she was sleeping with a gang member.
