Trump Nominates Son-In-Law Jared Kushner’s Former Roommate, Adam Boehler, As U.S. Envoy For Hostage Affairs

President-elect Donald Trump announced that he has chosen businessman Adam Boehler as his presidential envoy for hostage affairs. Boehler is a close friend and former roommate of Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Trump made this announcement in a Truth Social post. “I am pleased to announce that Adam Boehler will be my Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, with the personal rank of Ambassador,” he wrote in the caption.

Even though the position holds the rank of an ambassador, it does not need Senate confirmation.

“Adam worked for me as a Lead Negotiator on the Abraham Accords team,” he added, referring to the 2020 agreement establishing diplomatic relations between Israel, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

“He has negotiated with some of the toughest people in the World, including the Taliban, but Adam knows that NO ONE is tougher than the United States of America, at least when President Trump is its Leader,” Trump declared.

He had been alluding to the time when Boehler and the first Trump administration made a deal with the designated terrorist group. This agreement halted all attacks against U.S. troops in Afghanistan in exchange for a commitment to leave the country.

“Adam will work tirelessly to bring our Great American Citizens HOME,” Trump claimed.

“Adam was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the first CEO of the United States Development Finance Corporation,” the president-elect also noted regarding the federal agency created during his first administration, from 2019 to 2021. “He went to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.”

“Congratulations to Adam, his wife, Shira, and their four beautiful children, Ruth, Abraham, Esther, and Rachel,” Trump then stated.

Boehler replied to the president-elect’s announcement on X. “There is nothing more important than bringing Americans home,” he stated on the platform. “Under @realDonaldTrump’s leadership, there will finally be action and consequences. We will BRING THEM HOME.”

Earlier this month, Trump announced on Truth Social that he chose the disbarred former attorney Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, as the U.S. Ambassador to France.

Around the same time, he also revealed on the platform that he picked his daughter Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, billionaire businessman Massad Boulos, to be the senior adviser on Arab and Middle East affairs.
